Upcyclers take worn out materials and re-craft them or repurpose them into items of equal or greater value.
Božena Blanuša, a graduate of sculpture and ceramics at the Famul Stuart School of Applied Arts Ljubljana, has intensively dealt with upcycling over the past years. She is focusing on advertising materials which have served their purpose. She reshapes and repurposes these materials, combines them with waste textile and plastic. Her works are mainly bags and handbags, gift boxes and bags, and much more.

MAKING OF TOYS, Water tower

Friday, 24.8., 16.00-18.00

Try yourself at making new toys. Delight your young ones with a do-it-yourself artwork. To do so, you don't need a lot of material; old trousers, worn out T-shirt or a pair of stockings and a ball of thread will do. With some effort you will learn how to make an interesting home-made toy. By combining folds and different shapes, you will get a surprisingly interesting new toy.
Make a new toy in just a few steps.
Jana Štor is a young designer.
